Hock Hin Keong or popularly known as The
Snake Temple in Sungai Kluang, Bayan Lepas, Penang,
Malaysia is perhaps the only temple of its kind in the world. Standing
at the boundary of Penang's Free Trade Industrial Zone and the new
township of Bayan Baru, the temple has
snakes curled at the altar and is a
destination for tourists to Penang Island.
According to records it was
built in 1820. The temple houses the deity
Chor Soo Kong and is maintained by the Hokkien Kongsi Penang.
